Wood Whisperer Community

I just wrapped up a five-part series on building the PWW Bible Box from the October issue. I made some of my own modifications to the project, but the key elements to the original design are still there including a cool herringbone inlay (which I moved from the front to the top of my box). Rather than uploading all five videos to the community, I figured it would be quicker and easier to just link to them from blip.tv. This was definitely a fun project, and a good way to hone your hand tool techniques (including tapered feet, dovetails, and through wedged mortises). If you get started now, you might even have it done for a holiday gift!

Great series. I love how the videos focus on the project and important ideas and overview, leaving out the details. You mentioned once in the video that details (such as cutting dovetails) can be found on the net already and not worth rehashing. I hope to produce some videos myself and like your approach, thanks for more ideas!

Nice! I'm looking forward to watching all of these post-haste. I find myself distracted by your collection of planes though. :D
