Wood Whisperer Community

Marc and the site admin folks... Would it be possible to move / copy some of the posts from the old forum to here regarding Sketchup tutorials? There were some good ones in there that I did not get a chance to bookmark.

I agree with Spaids, sketchup for WW is the best to get started with, however, there are only a few posts. This blog is much more detailed once you have an idea of what you are doing on SU, http://www.finewoodworking.com//blog/design-click-build it may be under the subscription part of the FWW site, I subscribe and its well worth it but I can't tell what's free and what's not. Good Luck.

Hey David,

One of the things I'm trying to do is create an archive of the old forum. Once I get this up I'll let the community know. As you can see I did bring over manually all of the skp files from the old forum but there were just to many posts to do that manually.

Thanks for all your hard work!

I agree with the posts lauding sketchupforwoodworkers' tutorials. Prior to going through them, I found it difficult to get started with Sketchup. In part, this was because I was used to another program and never had the time to make the jump to another design program. But in large part, there seemed to be holes in Sketchup's video tutorials which missed some rather basic things that SFW covered clearly. Now I'm off and running, but would like to find more advanced sketchup tutorials that are geared specifically to woodworking. Anyone, anyone?

You should check out the 'Design. Click. Build.' blog over at FWW's site. One of the contributors (David Richards) has been seen here recently also.
